Term 1 Concentric Circle Trees

The children have worked incredibly hard, persevering with column addition this week. They were able to use a new method when regrouping tens which helped them understand place value a little better. We will continue next week before moving onto subtraction.

In Art, the children continued to explore the work of artist 'Wassily Kadinsky'. They spent time painting a colourful background using water colour paints, and experimented using a range of different strokes. Next, then painted a silhouette of a tree and designed their own concentric circle leaves using acrylic paints. They made links between the tree in the story 'In Our Hands' and the tree in the mustard seed parable.
