Roman Mosaics
Class 3 have begun their new history-linked topic in art this term where they will be making their very own Roman mosaics. We will begin by taking on a role similar to archaeologists by studying them; looking at where they were found, what they were like in appearance and what clues this might tell us about how the Romans lived. We will then move on to exploring patterns both in pencil and using technology, before moving on to practising printing techniques. Finally, we will then conclude by creating our final Roman mosaic pieces, which will encompass both the traditional borders along with a central motif.
