Today we learnt about how the Ancient Egyptians communicated in writing. We found out about how this developed from hieroglyphics to the more simplified hieratic script. We then found out about the Rosetta Stone which allowed us to decipher the meanings of the different symbols. Once we had done this, we had a go at writing our own messages in hieroglyphics. Some of us even did a Rosetta Stone-style translation into English, hieroglyphics and hieratic script!
