Celebrating 200 years of education

Church schooling started here in Chevening more than 200 years ago. It came out of a desire to ‘serve the common good’; to ensure children in every Parish in our country had access to a good education.

Some 200+ years later, ‘serving the common good’ is still what it’s all about. On Thursday, 15th November, 2018, Nigel Genders, the Chief Education Officer for all 4500 church schools said, ‘We need an education for the formation of the people for the transformation of the world.’

We have gathered an extensive collection of artefacts, memories and photographs from over the years, scroll through the photos to find out more.
