Term 3 Class 2 visit the Tower of London
On Thursday Class 2 embarked on an epic London adventure! Arriving at the station, hi-vis was donned and groups assigned, before joining the commuters on the train to London Bridge. Walking across Tower Bridge, we spotted many of London’s famous landmarks (including various offices where mummies and daddies work!) and soon found ourselves in the 950 year old fortress!
We were wow-ed by the stunning and sparkly Crown Jewels, met a friendly Beefeater, found out the names of the ravens and even learnt the benefits of being left-handed in medieval battles!
We were very proud of the children, who showed excellent manners, common sense and care for each other throughout the trip, as well as being engaged and interested in everything we saw and learnt. I think “Sir Robin” our 17th Century guide was rather in awe of their knowledge of the Great Fire! We were also incredibly impressed with everyone’s perseverance and positive cheery attitude with the walk and the very cold weather. What super stars! Huge thanks to all parent and staff helpers who enabled the day to run so smoothly.
