Owl Babies
We read the story ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell. We talked about the characters, and their feelings at different points of the story, learning the word ’petrified’. We found out that owls are ’nocturnal’ and a baby owl is called an ’owlet’. We created our own adventures for Mummy owl, getting lost at the owl market or on the beach and thought of some very interesting dishes to feed the babies such as worm chocolate! During our finger gym activities we used pompoms to paint owls, cut up paper shapes and traced the lines of owl pictures. We also did the Owl dance!
